My Dream Vacation to Austin, Texas
While I live what I would consider to be a blessed life here in Manhattan, this year has not been financially calm, with each month being a feast or a famine. Now that things are picking up in my private Pilates practice, and I have a consulting proposal out that could be both fun and lucrative, I am fantasizing about our next vacation.
Hubby and I have wanted to go to Austin, Texas for years. We have even gone so far as to explore our friends’ recommendations on Gogobot to plan out where we would stay, what BBQ places we want to stop in for lunch and dinner, and what music venues we want to visit.
Hotel of choice: The Driskill
How could I stay anywhere else? This historic beauty has great food, great service, and even a mirror made of diamonds in one of the ballrooms! And all this for the bargain basement price (remember, we live in NYC) of $120 per night.
BBQ first stop: Stubb’s
We love BBQ, and have heard about Stubb’s for years. In fact, we can both eat and see/hear music here, so it kinda fills two needs in one.
Music must-see: Austin City Limits Live at Moody Theater
You can see anyone and everyone at Austin City Limits, from Elton John to Willie Nelson, from Radiohead to Sheryl Crow. It’s all good!
Gogobot allows you to tap into the knowledge of your friends when planning a trip anywhere. You can find like-minded travelers and inspiration for your next vacation, creating easy-to-use wishlists you can return to again and again.
